What has he done for you lately?
My fiance brought home dinner last night.
He also brought home these:
He's got excellent timing. I've been wound pretty tight lately, and too busy to do things like make dinner. We're heading south this weekend for an engagement party that my Dad is throwing us. By "we" I mean the two of us, his children, his parents, my brother, my parents & step-parents. And a ton of my relatives are coming in from all over the country - one of them said she can't wait to "meet the man that captured your heart."
Does it go without saying that I'm a wreck?? This is like a mini-wedding! Which of his daughters will have a clothing emergency? Did I get the right shoes? Will he finally get the cold that I've had for a week now? Will the storms mess up our travel? Will EVERYONE GET ALONG??
These family weekends are my favorite childhood memories, but what if his quiet northern family hates my loud southern family??
Last night when he walked in the door with flowers and dinner, I almost burst into tears with relief.
Despite the train wreck I've turned into this week, he must still love me enough to do something nice like bring flowers home two days before we go away. This weekend, as I introduce my new family to my "old" family, I'll remember the flowers that are slowly rotting in our apartment.
What has he done for me lately? He's taken care of me in the most basic way (food) and in a way that he knows I'll appreciate (flowers).
What has your guy done for YOU lately?

Funny, my fiance just brought me flowers last week because "they were pretty and you are pretty and you deserve pretty things."
Awwwwwwww.
My husband is pretty sweet. He does the dishes every night, and tends to bring me things if I ask. He even lets me wake him up in the middle of the night for snuggles if I've had a bad dream. I'd say I have it pretty good.
Enjoy your weekend away, Lara!
Funny- I got flowers this week too because "You've been so stressed out lately and I thought they'd make you feel better." He knows I enjoy them immensely. Also, last night, he brought me some stuff to do decoupage with- the only crafty/artsy thing that really relaxes me (as a busy art ed. major, sometimes the last thing i want to do for fun is draw/ paint- that's HOMEWORK- decoupage is FUN) I love that he knows me so well that he even picked up on the fact that I mentioned how I'd love to do some, but didn't have the time to go get any. That's love for ya :) That was so sweet of your fiance too- i love when they know just what you need :-D
He brought me home flowers (my fav Gerbera Daisies) about a week ago and just last night he made a fabulous authentic mexican meal ,complete with margaritas! I think we are all very lucky, we've got some great men in our lives :)
Mine purchased and installed a digital thermostat in my recently purchased house because it was something I planned to do since moving in 4 months ago and just never got around to it. It's no flowers, but nice and thoughtful as well.
He's done nothing for me, that bastard.
That's really sweet that he hooked you up. I guess that shows how much he's paying attention if the timing was so perfect. ;)
He married me. I got married last weekend and being told constantly that I was gorgeous (even though I'm at my heaviest ever) was the best thing he could ever have done. He held my hand throughout the entire stressful week before and was there to support me with all that family 'stuff'.
Good luck with your family meeting!
My wife gave me the equivalent of flowers last night....use your imagination.
Although flowers last longer, I'll take what I got over flowers any day.
All the normal things a girl would worry about....Relax & Exhale now...he loves you trainwreck:) You have a wonderful guy!!!
I am very blessed I say now, because we all know he will do something soon to tee us off.again...But then we think of why we love him, and when we think he doesn't care, he does that little something.. I had a bird that was my baby..WAS, he died last week on his 9th B-day.. I had him since he was 2 weeks old.. I saw a bird, only cost 1072.00 dollars....But he bought him for me...So now..getting ready to turn 41 next month, I have a three week old African Grey parrot, which " I " wanted, I am on feedings every three hours...I get to do this for the next three weeks.. Mind you, he left this afternoon week away from home on a business trip....I was mad why??
this past Friday, my boyfriend forgot to call me until 8 pm - when he left work. i was quite upset because he had promised to call me earlier and it was "that time of the month" so i was oversensitive anyway. when he did call, he apologized profusely and i felt bad for having been mad at him. then, when he got home, he brought me a giant bouquet of purple and magenta daisies. what a sweetie pie! needless to say, every day his actions remind me of how lucky i am to have him in my life.
I don't even know what a bouquet of flowers look like becauseI have never received one..he is cheap he wasnt like that when I met him....
He made my lunch for me this morning to bring to work. And he made my breakfast. Ah, new love. :-)
he made(well actually i made it, but he bought it) my favorite dinner, and then he loaded up my computer with songs and vidoes that i have been wanting for a while. plus he read my term paper and helped me aton with it, i just might get an A because of his help. :)
Nearly 5 years on there are no flowers, and seldom if ever even a date night unless I plan it or beg for it. Hmmm, how do we get here? To this vast desert that was once full of romance and magic?
