What do you buy on the Internet?
Remember when the only thing you could buy online was books? Well, sister - times have changed!
I did most of my grocery shopping online when I lived in New York. I buy almost every baby, wedding and birthday gift online. And Hanunkah/Christmas? I think I shopped in one store this year. From banking to lingerie, is there any reason to leave the house anymore??
For most stuff, it's just easier to go online than to head out on a shopping expedition.
Then there's the stuff that you'd just as soon not be seen out in public buying, even though you're an adult, it's legal (in most states), and you're not doing anything wrong! Stuff like this:
(Hint: it's not a lipstick!)
Boudoir Essentials partnered with us over at ChickChat Radio last year, and they're a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Where would you rather shop for grown-up toys, at that creepy shop with the darkened windows & the neon XXX signs, or online in the privacy of your own home??
(BTW They are offering 15% off for anyone who takes their quick survey in the next couple of weeks: Click here to answer a few questions and get the discount.)
Back to the point...it now feels funny to me to be in an actual bookstore. There's hardly ever a line at the bank because so much banking gets done online. The only thing I always buy in person anymore is milk, but that's because I live on top of a grocery store (otherwise I might be trying a local grocery online delivery service!).
What do you shop for online?? Is there anything you would not ever buy online?
Cheers, Lara

I can't think of anything strange I have bought online. But what would I NOT buy? Hmmm...I'd have to say....well shoot, I can't think of anything I'd NOT buy. LOL
For the most part, I don't buy clothes online. I'm picky with how they fit, so that means it's off to the store. That said, I buy most of my lingerie online - after I find the size and brand I like in-store (it's much cheaper to order from England then to purchase here).
I don't do a lot of online shopping, but most of what we've purchased has been books and computer stuff.
I have to say, I prefer to hand select my books, rather than buying them online. But that might be because I'm a nerd! :)
I buy a lot of stuff online. But I agree with Kait, I prefer to buy clothes in person so I can try them on. If I find a brand/size I like then I order online.
Well I shop for groceries, books, presents, almost everything, although clothes is not something I buy much online yet.. there is one site where Ive been buying dresses and sarongs for my holidays at www.serenityblue.co.uk they have really colourful clothes which feel fab to wear.. other than that I tend to buy household items and gifts...
PS love the lippie!! ;-)
What's that exactly?
Question for Kait, I would love to buy lingerie from England if it's cheaper. May I know which website you bought from please? Any duties and tax? How about S&H? Thanks in advance.
i won't buy shoes online, unless they're something like Uggs, which can be a half a size off and not matter.
I bought 100% of my wedding flowers on-line from globalrose. They were so beautiful and my crafty mom arranged them for me.
To answer Michelle's question about Bill Me Later...
Bill Me Later is essentially an instant credit account, available at more than 400 online merchants - you click on Bill Me Later at checkout, answer two simple questions for a quick credit check, and then you only have to wait about 3 seconds for approval. Then, a few weeks later, you'll get a bill in the mail, which you can either pay in full or pay over time - the same way a credit card account works.
I love being able to shop without digging around for my credit card, and you don't need to enter any account numbers or other sensitive information to shop, so it's safer than using a credit card.
My favorite online retailers that offer Bill Me Later include: Toys R Us, Zappos, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bluefly, Continental Airlines, and Walmart. But there are hundreds, so check out www.billmelater.com for more info and for current promotions.
I hope that answers your question, and happy shopping!!
Wow! I guess I never really thought of how much you can buy online. I, personally, have only bought a comforter online...the thought of ordering something and paying for shipping and handling and then seeing it in person and not liking it scares me.
The strangest thing I've ever bought online is sperm. My partner and I wanted a baby, and we were able to go to the online spermbank and select a suitable candidate. The sperm was shipped straight to the doctor's office!!!
Lara, I, too, buy EVERYTHING on-line. The hubby and I just spent the weekend at a quaint B&B. I looked for the brand name on the bottom of everything I liked and then went home and ordered it all on the web, including a decoupaged wastepaper basket, a light up make-up mirror, and a shoe horn for him!
I shop for healthier cleaning supplies, shampoos and cosmetics. They are safe to use as well as safe for the environment. For more info visit my site.
Hey anyone,
What is the cheapest place to browse on internet or in store I can look for the b-day supplies for my son. Its truely driving me crazy!! I need help badly!! If someone needs to know I live in eastern NC if theres a local store nearby. Thanks so much!
