Our Valentines Day was perfect. I got a fabulous box of chocolate and my husband got fabulous....well you get the idea.

But, I love the candy that guy is wearing up there. Totally for next year!

I got nothing. So I definitely didn't rake in the loot. My husband didn't FORGET Valentine's Day, he just didn't make the time to do something. Even write a note! And yes, he did get something from me. And for the few days before, I even told him I got him something. (a subtle reminder that the day was coming up) I spent a lot of time and energy on his gifts too. Very creative. He told me that he was trying to figure out what to do for me the last few days, but just never got out to get something. And to top it all off, he scheduled a confrence call between his office and China for 10:00pm that night! (he made the call at home, but still....) What do I do about THAT? I could understand if he forgot. But he just didn't make the time!! So frustrating. Way to go flowergirl. Sounds like you got a good one.

I like the candy up there too, but even if I got any of it, there wouldn't have been any time to use it last night. A CONFERENCE CALL?!?

Sorry. Didn't mean to post twice

Posted by afarnswo on February 15 at 10:29am

afarnswo -- if it helps at all - my husband was on two calls last night- and was about to make a third when I just looked at him like he was a FREAK! Doesn't he think others maybe sorta celebrate also????

Sorry to hear no present - even a note is the greatest! All work and no play.....

That totally sucks!! A conference call???? What was he thinking???

Ask him who is more important!

My husband worked a bit last night, and then we went to Walmart. Yeah, we're not really V-day people, but that's ok! :)

I had a great night! My wife feel asleep with my 2 year old at 8:15. She woke at 10 and we watched Lost. Then we sleep for a couple of hours before my 4 year old threw up in her bed. Then, my 2 year old woke us up at 5. It was very romantic (Sarcasm). Actually, it is the chaos that I do love and the craziness of each day (and night) that keeps me happy

Doony Dog - I love that you love the chaos. I have a two year old, 8 month old twins and one on the way and our house has been nothing but chaos since Halloween. I wasn't expecting anything super special for Valentine's Day, but I was expecting at least a little note or something. But the goods in my life far outweigh the bads and my husband usually feels so bad about messing up special occasions that the royal treatment I get after the fact usually makes up for the disappointment of the event. Not that it excuses the screwups though...But I still love him. And I too, love the chaos.

afarnswo:

Baby, I hear you. I remember when my twins were 8 months, and I got to tell you, your boy is probably just trying to hang on. I'm lucky because my wife does not care about cards and notes, because she knows that I would give her my liver if it made her happy.

PS--I love your reproduction "strategy" I'm guessing that you are either a Morman, Irish, or mentally ill.

2/15, R: I miss you & wish u were back. Did John take you to Paris for Valentine's Day? I am jealous. I got a heart shaped donut from my husband. 2/16 B: John forgot it was even Valentine's Day. I don't care, I love him anyway & I love him tremendously. Love Mom who is in Strasbourg, which is in Alsas, which is in France. 2/17 R: How could someone FORGET it is Valentine's Day?! It was the day that your grandson was conceived! Hearts were everywhere. Every TV show for the last week was either a Valentine's Day special or had a Valentine's Day theme. Kay jewler’s bought up every commercial spot — This Valentine’s Day show her she’s really special . . .blah blah blah . . . every kiss begins with “K”. Songs went out over the radio all day long dedicated to lucky girls or guys. Every office had roses on at least a third of it’s desks & every school sent home wads of Valentine art. I say, if you forget it, you owe jewelry!

Zip, nothing, nada. That's okay.
Easter is April 8. There won't be
no bunny hopping down his bunny
trail.

Doony Dog - Actually, twins was a complete suprise (we meant to get pregnant, but were never planning twins! - it doesn't run in the family) and the third is a mystery how it happened. Seriously...I think he just looked at me! Anyway. It's nice to have them all so close though. That way I won't be too old to have fun when they're all grown. But for now...4 kids ages 3 and under??? Yikes!! Congrats on your twins though. Twins are so much fun, aren't they?? I absolutely love it! (except for everyone and their family and friends stopping me to ask "are they twins?" and gawk forever. It makes for unexpectedly long shopping trips...which I am now beginning to expect!)

Valentines Day? Hmmmmm...wha..when... is that like Presidents Day? HELP ME!

Posted by Single on February 18 at 03:47am

I don't know what's worse - being with someone that didn't get you something (acknowledge you) for Valentine's Day or being single. Atleast single you don't expect anything or have to make up excuses for the person that didn't get you anything. For whatever reason - HE'S JUST NOT THAT IN TO YOU! Denial - a complacent girl's bestfriend...
