Meet the Lovers of Valdaro
Awwwwwwwwwwww! Have you met the Lovers of Valdaro? They've been hugging for 5,000 years, and the scientists think they're a young couple! Isn't that sweet?
How does a young couple wind up like this? There are a couple of theories. Maybe the guy (on the left) died, and then the chick was killed "in sacrifice" so his soul would have someone to be with in the after life.
Then again, the guy has an arrow in his back, and she has an arrowhead in her side. Ouch. I wonder how young they were. Was it some kind of Romeo & Juliette suicide pact? Maybe her parents objected to him, and sent someone to kill him, and then she found out, and wanted to die with him so they could be 2-getha 4-eva. Maybe they were attacked by some evil enemy in some war that we don't even know happened.
Even though it's a couple of skeletons, I find it really sweet and romantic that this couple has been wrapped in each other's arms for an estimated 5,000 years. My fiance and I can barely take a nap together because of my (alleged) restless leg syndrome; this picture looks great to me!

However, since this is a clear-cut case which you couldn't possibly imagine winning, and since it would make things easier for all involved, I give you another 24 hours to remove the images before I'll advise him to take action.
They look like they took some poison and died together. Im no anthropologist or anything the sort but by the looks of the picture it seems they both decided to die together, or at least they had surrendered to their fate. Either way or not this a beautiful picture that I will re-send to my lover so that he knows how much I love him.
I know nothing about this, but from the picture alone, my guess would be that they were caught in a volcano or mudslide or something.
It's hard to say. It could have been just about anything!
i think it's so sweet. i like the died-together-in-an-attack kind of version, or something like that. i don't think it was a volcano though, because there would be ash and scientists wouldn't have to look for a cause of death.
I saw this on the news last week. many scenarios went through my head,especially since they were found near the site of alleged Romeo and Juliet. I think no matter what the circumstances were it is lovely and reminds me that true love is eternal. they died in the arms of whom they loved and were comforted by. Very beautiful.
This picture could be taken in several different ways, I'd like to think of it as romantic and beautiful since we don't know how this happened its nice to put our own thoughts into it and give it a romatnic twist.
Ya'll are ignoring the fact that they both had arrows in them. I think their village was attacked, and they knew they were dying..he, or she crawled to the others side, and embraced one last time.
Ghoulish? yes, but unmistakeably romantic.
