Why DO Women Stop Wearing Lingerie??

So many good questions - so little time.

While being enlightened by Dooney Dog as to what men REALLY want on New Year's Eve (and every other night of the year). Dooney Dog also mused:

"I have your next topic for you....why do women stop wearing lingerie a month after they are married?"

I didn't think that much about it. Just chuckled to myself. Then this weekend when I was trying to get rid of some old stuff in my closet and drawers I noticed -- hmmm -- look at that - I have NO lingerie. (at least none from my current husband - just old ex boyfriend stuff that needs to go due to age).

I've been married 8 years. So I then took an 'inventory' of what I do wear to bed. Now I'm no "tee-shirt and ratty sweat pants" girl. But yup - I've got some old, some frumpy, and some just plain UNSEXY nightgowns and pajamas.

I mean what in God's green earth about a Jack Russel Terrier picture on the pj top, and dog bones on the bottom would attract my husband to me???

Old LLBean nightshirt from me old boyfriend from L.A.'s mother about 10 years ago
Old Express floral nightshirt I bought for myself a good 12 years ago
Old satin sexy barely used bikini underwear I bought just out of college some LONG time ago...(don't even wanna know HOW small those suckers were...)

This year is the year I change the sad situation. Thanks to Dooney Dog (and I'm sure my husband will thank you). I'll be working on rectifying this sad situation.

I love Dooney Dog's question (as would my fiance, if he were reading this - you're not, are you honey??). And my lingerie collection is pathetic too. I wear less of my sexy stuff because I've outgrown it! As in, can't fit over thighs/zip over hips...only my boobs would look good, but I can't fasten the bra, so he'll never know. Your absolutely right. Back in the day when my husband and I were dating, it was Victoria's Secret and nothing else. We got married and had kids and now it's comfortable and plain underware. A couple of weeks ago I bought some boy shorts underwear. My husband said it was about time I bought something sexy and he wanted me to buy more. He's right. I'll meet both of you at the mall.

Men don't care that you "don't look good in it" (in your mind) - we aren't asking you to wear it out on the street.

Less is better, no matter what.

Thanking for raising this very important question. As I have been saying, women just do get it. Everybody know the lingerie comes off in 2 minutes....just humor your man and let him check you out. Then when you are doing it, make some noise...pretend you are into it, and everyone will fall asleep happy.

Men are simple creatures that can easily be controlled and manipulated. I'm one of them. I have agreed to some of the most outrageous things, just because I laid. I am not proud of my simplicity, but it is what it is.

Women, I am really trying to help you. Just do your man once a day, and you will keep the divorce lawyer/mistress away.

Eek! I haven't been wearing anything to bed in over 5 years. While I haven't been married THAT long, I think the nakedness has become boring to my husband. I have a few good pieces I still pull out when necessary, though!

I dont know.I guess its just nor very comfortable. My husband loves getting me lingerie especially gstrings but they just are not comfortable. even though demi bras are great they literally give you a back ache. for me my husband cant keep his hands off me if i show my cleavage or wear a tight shirt. I guess I like it slow and its better i wear more clothes as it gives me more time to enjoy.

My husband complains all the time that I don't come to bed sexy anymore. But it's hard when you have a two year old that sneaks in your bed in the middle of the night or I have to get up with the baby it more comfortable just to put on a teeshirt and some shorts.

Doony Dog, I do dress up for my husband. The problem? I'd like to know he appreciates it. I tell him I need to know he appreciates it. Nothin fancy, just like say the next day when he gets home from work that I looked great or something along those lines. He does NOTHING. If I try to talk to him about it than I am ignored, or told I am a B____. Not a way to get a woman to want to do it again. I can't seem to get that through to him. I love to dress up - I just need to know he loves me to. Men will do anything for a woman if he get laid? Not all men.

Hey now, I'm 25, married (1yr but been 5yrs together), have a very porno compatible body, own a few bitchin pieces of lingerie and you wanna know something... my guy tells me that it's nice but not necessarily hotter than form fitting comfy PJs or any old mismatch bra & panty. Actually i get NOOO difference in reaction from him either way, when he's got sex on the mind it's like any & every thing goes. I know i should be rejoicing..but inside i keep thinking "but isn't lingerie just supposed to work better???"

Anyways i just wanted to say that probably in many cases the lingerie wearing sorta phases out when it hits the ground with an "oh baby" the same way our inexpensive, cotton, breathable, and COMFY nightie does. I think more woman wanna wear the sexy stuff than any man would like to acknowledge, but if it means they (men) gotta convince / encourage /or/ purchase then they rather mutter here & there "why don't we ever wear something sexy"

after having children every year and a half i think i stopped wearing it because tell the truth,at they end of the day i am just to damn tired to worry if i am sexy for 5 whole minutes of sex and 15 minutes in the shower to clean up his mess...lol
