Is this too much?
How would you like to live next to THIS guy? His name is Dominic Luberto, and this house is in Boston.
Some fun facts:
- Will work up to 250,000 lights, house is 8500 square feet
- Lights automatically switch on at 4:30 pm and off at 1:30 am (will go later as Christmas gets closer)
- Electric bill: $1100/month, TEN times the usual amount
- Started putting lights up 72 days before Christmas: That's OCTOBER, people - OCTOBER!
- Best quote from neighbor-hater: "I'm living next to Las Vegas"
Every day, 47,000 people drive by Dominic's house. A few weeks ago, I was one of them. It is spectacular! I happen to love the over-done houses, and this one is no exception.
Anyway - what do you think? Too much? Is too much ever enough when it comes to decorating your house for the holidays?? I don't celebrate Christmas and I live in an apartment, so for now, I'm just an observer. So I support Dominic and love his holiday spirit!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cheers, Lara

There is a house near St. Louis that rivals this guy. Corner house, lights like Las Vegas AND, luckily, Christmas music blaring from hidden speakers throughout the lawn shrubs. Genius treat for looky-loos, hell for neighbors.
ha ha! i agree with BL. i love driving by these houses but would HATE to live next to one. yes, it's wasteful and weird. but i'm still gonna drive by...

That house is rockin!! I LOVE it!!
I wish everyone had that much Holiday cheer!!!
This house is nothing compared to mine in Everett Wa. 500,000 lights. 150 amps of power. Its AWESOME.
Absolutely Wonderful! If the world had more people like Dominic Luberto, then the Spirit of Christmas would be alive and well. In a world of commercialism at the holidays, it's nice to see that Mr. Luberto still remembers the reason we celebrate Christmas..and it's wonderful to see that he puts so much time and effort into his display for the children of the area to enjoy.
Mr. Luberto...ignore the nay-sayers. They are simply Grinches who don't realize that Christmas is a time for giving to others of yourself...and you, sir, are giving a lifetime of memories to countless thousands each day. God Bless You and please, don't ever stop what you're doing. You're an inspiration to all of us who believe in the spirit of Christmas and the age-old tradition of decorating our homes with lights to celebrate the season.
May you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2007 and beyond.
To those who are against this display...may Santa leave you a lump of coal on Christmas Morning.
-Jeff
