What's your favorite beauty tool?

My favorite beauty tool is an eyelash curler. Do you use one? You should try it! Everyone looks like they have false eyelashes on after using one (in a good way!).

They do look mean, though, don't they??

This one is from Shu Uemura - it's supposed to be the best one out there. If the one I have ever breaks down, I'll probably invest in this one:

Has anyone used a heated curler? I am afraid, very afraid of the heated eyelash curlers. I once put curlers on my bangs overnight, woke up and realized they were in backwards, and had to cut my bangs to pixie-length for some event. Sure, I was in elementary school, but my beauty skills have not improved that much. And what happens if you curl your eyelashes lashes a wrong or weird way?? Is there such a thing as an eyelash curling do-over??

So, what is your favorite beauty tool - flat iron? Brushes? Toothbrush? Looking for any/all tips!

Cheers, Lara

You are so right!

I love my eyelash curler. Even when I was working in a factory and getting up at 4:40 to leave at 5:00 I still always curled my lashes! It makes me eyes so much more wide awake, I feel like I look like I'm sleeping when i don't curl my lashes.

Eyelash curlers scare me. Never tried one though, just held it up and decided it was scary and put it back down.

I probably need help in the beauty tool arena. I was raised by a hippie mom that taught me to embrace my natural beauty! So beyond brushing my hair and throwing on a little powder to control shine, I'm lost.

Hey Lara, I love my eyelash curler, too...and I have a cheapie one that works just fine. The only thing: beware of the ouch factor. It's huge, especially when you catch some eyelid with the lashes (yeow!).

PS Thanks for having me on the show today. It was so much fun. But don't tell anyoneL I didn't curl my eyelashes before we chatted...

I LOVE my eyelash curler... but omg, I sneezed once and ripped out half my eyelashes! Talk about ouch factor... and how humiliating using eye pencil and waiting for them to grow back in.

I have to say, I really prefer plastic eyelash curlers to metal. Metal ones (even the Shu) seem to "bend" my eyelashes, but plastic ones really curl them. If I only have time to do one thing to my face, it's usually curling my lashes. I never leave home with out one. Not kidding.

I love my eyelash curler, and I have the heated kind. I bought mine from Avon and it's just enough heat to give a real good curl. I never had much luck with the regular curlers because my eyelashes are just so stubborn. Don't be afraid of the heated ones....I think they are awesome!

I love my eyelash curler. I use it all the time, even if I'm not wearing any other make-up. I don't have the heated one but I do blast mine with the hair dryer for a couple seconds before I use it. Just make sure to test it on your hand to make sure it's not too hot.

I love my eyelash curler and Sephora has a heated wand thing that will add a little extra curl that is FUN to use!

You know, I've never tried an eyelash curler. I just two years ago discovered the flat iron. I FELL IN LOVE! It takes my slightly frizzy hair and just makes it so silky and I can run my fingers through it for the first time ever.

But, I couldn't live without a good set of files/cuticle pushers. I don't paint my nails often, but, they're well taken care of.

The eyelash curler is a necessity - especially for people like me with poker straight lashes.

WHY DO THE MEN ALWAYS GET THE GREAT, CURLY LASHES?!?! Grrrrrr.

I love my eye lash curler and feel naked if I don't at least curl my lashes, even if no other make-up is worn. Instead of investing in a heated curler, blast a few seconds of hot air on the curler and you get the same effect. Works every time!

eyelash curlers are great. they always make ur eyes look nice, especially if ur natural lashes are long already. eyes are so important - i love putting on contacts, sticking those fake lashes on, and then curving my eyeliner a little out, so my eyes look like sparkling almonds. no matter who looks at you, i guarantee you'll make a great impression! some may just not be able to take their EYES of YOU!! :D

My friend found this site and bought one of this heated eyelash curler from Shiki-beauty. She was so happy with it that she gave me one for my birthday. IT'S AWESOME. It's so tiny and heats up in seconds. I can use it anywhere and with it's sleek design people don't even know it's a curler.

so - i did the same thing. sneezed while using my eyelash curler and ripped out half. how long - pray tell - does it tell for them to grow back???

I have found the best eyelash curler ever!
A Makeup artist turned me onto it after she heard about it from some clients.
The best is the Hot Lashes heated eyelash curling system. Hotlashes.com is their web site. I just found them!

It uses a gold eyelash curler made of steel just like the Shu Uemura curler and you just fit it into a small platinum heater base. Only takes a few seconds to heat. My eyelashes never looked better or more curled.
Rave, Rave, rave..

I have the Hot Lashes eyelash curler and could not agree more. Love, love mine.
Thanks for the web site as I need some mascara and want to try theirs. I got mine as a gift, best gift ever.

Eyelash curlers that work, that really curl lashes are great. Makes my eyes pop and my color even looks better, more awake, more alive.yea..

I have super straight eyelashes and I love the effect of the heated eyelash curlers. The best by far is the Hot lashes one!

I also bought the AC Adaptor and it heats really fast. I also love the gold curler. Best investment I ever made.

I love my ShuUemura, but I used to use a really cheap eyelash curler that cut my eyelashes almost to the lid...it was really awful and took about a month for them to grow completely back. But they will, Janet. I'm kind of silly and have accidentally done everything to my eyelashes from cutting them off to ripping them off and burning them...like I said, I'm an idiot sometimes. But they always grow back! With eyeliner and mascara and fake eyelashes if you're desparate, you can hide anything :)

I once used a metal eyelash curler and as i pressed it together the top bit snaped on one side and cut my skin just below my eyebrow.
I haven't used one in a few years but I just bought a plastic one.
Do you apply mascara before or after?
