What would you do with $100?
Yesterday I found a $100 bill on the street! At first I thought it was one dollar. I bent down to pick it up and did a 360, looking for whoever had dropped it. No one was around. I continued on my way, and realized it was $100 bill! So I stopped and looked behind me - no one was looking around. Here's my pal Mr. Franklin now!
I was so busy trying to decide what to do with the money (nice dinner with Boston Guy? shoes? H&M? savings?) that it didn't occur to me to try to give it back to it's rightful owner until Heidi pointed out during our show yesterday that it really isn't my money. Maybe that's why Mr. Franklin is sneering in his picture.
Thanks to everyone who called into the show yesterday to encourage me to go shopping, but guilt got the better of me and I started asking law enforcement people what a lawful citizen should do. Here's what I got:
Me: Let's say someone found a $100 bill on the street - what's the right thing to do with it if you want to get it back to its rightful owner?
Hot police officer on the street: Give it back to me, I've been looking all over for it!
Me: Let's say someone found a $100 bill on the street - what's the right thing to do with it if you want to get it back to its rightful owner?
Lady detective on the phone: I dropped it yesterday, I can't believe you found it!
Both said that you could turn it into the precinct and see if anyone claims it. Neither had ever heard of someone looking for dropped cash. Both essentially said, "finders keepers," but it sounded like "findahs keepahs" in thick Boston accents. So I'm going to keep the cash.
What would you do if you found $100 on the street?
Cheers, Lara

I found $10 in Papa Johns the other day (didn't try to return it to anyone...I'm a bitch) and I think I bought Qdoba with it. But $100 would go a pretty long way. The state I'm in now, I would probably pay bills with it or put it in savings. I'm in hardcore practical mode.
I would thank the Loving God and go take me to a real nice dinner, and if i was in a generous mode, would call one of my best friends to go with me. with the left over, get my hair cut and styled, its currently totally on its own, doing what it wants to. that is what i would do.

BLOOMINGDALES, STAT!
I would go to mall and buy a peep toe wedge at Nordstrom. I love shoes.
keep it.
Donate it to the Red Cross. Or maybe like half of it.
I would donate $10, $50 put into saving and thank the loving god. With the left over, I would go for either feet massage or spa or hair cut. If I am in a generous mode, I'll buy my bf a $90 romantic dinner.
I would buy some toys. (wink)
i would do right i would buy my kids some over due needed things , and i would send $20 into a utility bill lord knows they alaways are sending the bills!and of course i would be so gratefull and feeling the luck! ohio!
I found 200 at an AM/PM. Funny thing is, two people walked right over it. I didn't know it was 200 at the time and I was 4th in line. None of the people in line said a word about lost money...I kept it. Sure I could have given it to the casher, and he could have had a nice dinner, paid bills etc...IF it happened again I would change nothing..
